In the past 40 years, Dan Chase has performed and directed at theaters around Iowa in such diverse shows as “Wait Until Dark” at the Des Moines Playhouse, Westminster Presbyterian Church’s Fine Arts Series production of “A Man For All Seasons”, and “Marat/Sade” with Des Moines’Drama Workshop, with musical stops in “Assassins”, “Damn Yankees”, and “All Shook Up”, to name a few.
Most recently, he polished his Irish accent for “The Beauty Queen of Leenane”, lost a limb for “A Behanding in Spokane”, then hanged a few witches just for fun in “Arthur Miller’s “The Crucible” at the Des Moines Social Club. And, for a change of pace, Dan directed “The Music Man” for Urbandale Community Theatre.
Dan recently retired from a 27 year career as a high school choral director, and now has the pleasure of following his daughter as she starts down her path to a career in music.
He has enjoyed performing with Jest Murder Mysteries, especially since it includes performing with his lovely, talented wife Carol Palmer.
